The Competition Commission released a report on 2nd December 2019 in which it responds to complaints that consumers are being overcharged for data in South Africa. They recommend that Vodacom and MTN must reduce their data prices by between 30 and 50% within two months. This will drive prices for data down across the market.
This victory for consumers has gotten us thinking about how we can roll out this type of change for consumers into other areas where consumers are treated unfairly or being exploited.
